Idealism and Politics
Often, people said that the things I wanted to achieve were impossible or naive. And from where they stood, I’m sure it looked that way.
The truth is, the impossible is a matter of altered perspective. I grew up learning how the impossible was achieved. From commercial flight, computers, spacecraft, unions, even the war that established our nation. The impossible was achieved, and new limits were imagined.
I don’t think having an affordable city life or basic needs being covered is all that far-fetched. And despite the greedy attempt to brand this kind of political thinking as negative, I still believe that people deserve a government and a mayor who will provide for them. After all, elected offices in our government are positions of public service, not personal interest.
As our quality of life is under attack by an incompetent and selfish administration, I will fight for the needs of every Provo resident.
I will lower costs for housing.
I will improve working hours.
I will provide jobs.
I will make Provo a place of ideals.
This is not a dream. It’s a reality that defies greed in favor of people.
